Don't let you hearts be troubled.
John 14:1
How many times have you experienced trouble in life? We are all too familiar with the different obstacles and challenges that come our way. Sometimes, life can feel overwhelming, and we ask ourselves, “What else?” “What’s next?”
It can be easy to live in a state of mind that is always expecting the worst, waiting for the next bad thing to happen.

It can be easy to live in a state of mind that is always expecting the worst, waiting for the next bad thing to happen.
However, John 14:1 reminds us, “Don’t let your hearts be
troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me.” We can rest assured knowing that
God is in control, He has a plan for our lives, and He is faithful.
We do not have to live in constant fear or anxiety, because we serve a good God. Romans 8:28 states, “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”
When we remember that we serve a God who ultimately has good in store for us, there is nothing to be afraid of. We can live in confidence and boldness, believing for great things to come.

As we enter into worship and posture ourselves before our
loving God, this brings us back to a place of trust and surrender to
Him. It allows us to cast all of our cares and concerns upon Him, and to live a
life that is free of all worry. When we
lift our hands in the air and truly let God take control of every area of our
life, we will then get to experience the peace that surpasses all
understanding.
In my own life, sometimes I choose anxiety instead of surrender. Because somehow it seems easier to do.
Instead of living in freedom and in peace, I live with overwhelming stress. I am unable to sleep at night, unable to experience true rest, and I am constantly worried and thinking about what is next.
This is not the abundant life that I know God has for me. Over time, however, I have learned that I must come before the throne of God and give him all that I am—all my doubts, my concerns, my fears, and my worries. I know that He can handle it all and will take the weight from me. Once I release all these things to Him, I will instantly feel a deep sense of peace, knowing that I can trust my God and that He is in control.

I challenge us all today to release our fears and
concerns to our God, whom we know we can trust. To live the life God has for us, we must give Him complete control, and not be
concerned or worried for the future. We must trust Him with our whole hearts
and know that He has goodness in store.
May we come before Him and lay down all of our burdens at the throne of grace, and receive the peace that He so lovingly gives us.
